• A game jersey from Redskins quarterback Sammy Baugh sold for $46,000 – nearly twice the expected price.

  The Super Bowl memorabilia sale of 280 NFL items was topped by a torn jersey from a 1947-48 game. It was given to a fan, whose family finally offered it for sale more than 60 years later.

  The jersey was expected to draw $20,000 to $30,000. An anonymous buyer gained it.

  Also sold were a 1970s game jersey by New York Jets quarterback Joe Namath for $27,600, helmet by Los Angeles Rams great Norm Van Brocklin for $24,150, 2008 Jets jersey by Brett favre for $11,500 and a Kurt Warner game jersey for $9,200.
