The team announced they have re-signed Phil Daniels, Lorenzo Alexander, and Mike Williams. All were on the team last year and the only surprise (if you can call it that) is the re-signing of Mike Williams.
Daniels is 37 and is entering his 15th season in the league. He has been with Washington since 2004. Daniels is a big left-end who specializes in stopping the run.
Alexander has been with the Redskins since 2007 and is valued for his versatility. In his time in Washington he has played on both sides of the line, and is a big contributor on special teams. The team now plans to convert him to linebacker, and rely on him in teams.
Williams was out of football for two years in 2007-08 and was signed to the Redskins after Derrick Dockery, with whom he was staying, recommended he try out. Williams lost over 100-pounds to get in playing shape. He spent time at offensive tackle and guard last year.
